Can you believe it’s already time to start thinking about Halloween? This year is just flying by! Whether you’re planning a trick-or-treat alternative party and need some activity ideas or just want to help your own kids get into the spooky season spirit, you’re going to love these fun & easy Halloween crafts for kids!
What makes these Halloween crafts so easy?
Doesn’t it drive you nuts when you see a post title that says, “easy crafts,” then you open it up to find crafts with a dozen expensive supplies and directions that require an engineering degree to follow?
Well, I promise that when I say, “easy Halloween crafts for kids,” I mean it! All of these ideas use supplies that you likely have laying around your home or can very easily (and cheaply) find at the dollar store, local craft store, or on Amazon (my favorite, since it comes right to your home).
Many of these crafts use the same basic supplies and you can buy them in bulk for very little money. If you’re hosting a Halloween party, you can easily grab enough for all of the kids and make a few of them to fill in time between games and other activities. 1. Googly Eye Headband Craft

How cute is this googly eye headband? It’s a lot easier to make than it looks, don’t worry. In fact, if you have a headband and a glue gun, you really only need to buy some googly eyes.

2. Halloween Luminaries from Repurposed Containers

Take a peek in your recycling bin and snag any containers that are still in good shape for this simple Halloween craft for kids. Most of the supplies in the tutorial are optional and just recommendations. You really just need the containers and something to decorate them with (paint, stick-on vinyl, etc.). At most, you’ll need to buy some battery-operated tea lights, and they’re always good to have on hand.
3. Upcycled Halloween Pumpkin Patch

You’ll need to head to your recycling bin again for this fun craft to grab some used water bottles! Then, just pull out your orange paint and black duct tape (black paint works well, too) and get crafting! Display your upcycled pumpkins outside in the garden or on your mantle.
4. Kawaii Candy Corn Painted Rocks

Head outdoors on a scavenger hunt to find just the right rocks for this fun craft! Then, bring them home and break out the orange, yellow and white paint. You can also add googly eyes if you don’t want to paint them on. While you’re rock hunting, try finding a few great round stones to make mini pumpkins, too!
5. Pom-Pom Ghosts

If you have some white yarn and googly eyes, you have everything needed for these cute little ghosts! Make a few for fun or a whole bunch and string them together for ghostly garland! Just run string through the top loop on each ghost to connect them. You could even use some black yarn to make some spider friends for your little ghosts!

Kids will love making special Halloween towels for their bathroom, and it’s a lot easier than you might think! You’ll just need some white hand towels and black puffy paint. The supplies used to create the tracings are things you definitely have on hand.
7. Mini Orange Jack-o-Lanterns
Want a fun Halloween craft that kids can eat? Try these cute Jack-o-Lantern salads in an orange peel! To make it kid-friendly, prepare the orange ahead of time and give kids an assortment of stickers so they can decorate their jack-o-lantern. Then, when they’re done, fill it up with salad or other healthy snacks. This is a great little craft that helps encourage picky eaters to try new things, since they get to eat it out of fun bowl that they made themselves. If you need a super simple and fun Halloween craft for a kids’ party, these spooky spiders are a breeze to make! You just need some lollipops, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and a glue gun. Try swapping out the sugary lollipops with healthier options. 9. Craft Stick Spider

If you love the idea above but prefer to skip the sweet treats entirely, this one is a great candy-free alternative for Halloween parties. You’ll just need some craft sticks, felt, and paint to put these not-so-scary spiders together!

You’ll need to do the mixing for this easy craft, but once it’s ready your kids can go crazy creating whatever they want. I love it because it’s safe for toddlers, who as you know tend to put everything in their mouths.

For this easy craft, you’ll just need a heavy-duty paper plant, green construction paper and some orange finger paint. It’s quite possibly the easiest of all these Halloween crafts for kids!

The best part about this craft: you can use pretty much anything that you have on hand to create the monsters. Paper bags are really the only must-have supply. If you’re throwing a party, let the kids make a bunch then encourage them to put on their own puppet show.

For this craft, grab some Halloween-colored beads and some foam-shaped beads (the dollar store or local craft store has them cheap). Then, let kids thread them on some string, help them tie it up, and voila! Make bracelets, necklaces or even garland with the same basic items.

For this one, you just need some white paper plates, scissors, paint (and a little twine at the end). Even toddlers can make this one with very little help from you. You’ll just need to cut out the shapes for them.
